We’re proud to be leading the charge on WA’s largest rooftop solar initiative – a $10 million project transforming 25,000m² of rooftop into a clean energy powerhouse. With a five-megawatt capacity, this system represents a major step forward in reducing emissions and driving Perth Markets toward a more sustainable, low-carbon future.
We’re pleased to share that all rooftop works were completed in April, marking a significant milestone. This included the installation of 10,000 solar PV panels, 56 rooftop inverters, and 2.1km of walkways. The next phase involves ongoing consultation with tenants as we prepare for necessary site-wide electrical shutdowns to safely connect the new PV systems to the existing electrical network.
Key Milestones Achieved:
- PV distribution boards installed at warehouses SE1, E7, and SE2,
- Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) currently in production, with delivery expected in June 2025,
- HV switchgear design completed and now in production,
- Planning approval received for the new HV Switch Room, and
- Demolition of the existing shed completed to make way for new infrastructure.
What’s Next:
- Scheduled electrical shutdowns across the CTA and warehouse areas in June and July,
- Construction of the HV Switch Room and BESS compound, and
- Installation and commissioning of the BESS system and integration with PV systems.
