Perth Markets is celebrating the arrival of the stone fruit season with its Back to Market Buyer’s Day, a free event reconnecting Perth’s fresh food retailers and service providers with Western Australia’s leading wholesalers. The event will be held on Thursday, November 20, at the Perth Markets site in Canning Vale.
Open from 6:00am to 8:00am, this event is a chance for retailers and service providers to reconnect with WA’s fresh produce hub and wholesalers, strengthen industry ties, and experience the season’s finest local fruit and vegetables firsthand.
The day will feature industry information stalls, complimentary food and coffee for guests, and media interviews. Guests can also join a special Chef’s Tour hosted by Perth Markets Ambassador Rachael Torre of Wholefood Circus, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the market buying process and the chance to meet the people behind WA’s fresh produce scene.
Perth Markets Chief Executive Officer, Scott Gibson, said the initiative is part of Perth Markets’ ongoing commitment to strengthening the supply-chain and the importance of buyers developing relationships with the state’s wholesalers.
“The Perth Markets have always been more than a place to buy and sell produce, they’re a meeting point for our industry,” Mr Gibson said.
“By coming together, buyers, wholesalers and growers strengthen the local supply chain and ensure Western Australians continue to enjoy the freshest, highest-quality produce.“This event gives Perth businesses the opportunity to experience the incredible variety of fresh produce available at the Markets — the kind of quality and range you simply don’t see when ordering online or over the phone — and to discover new ways to save money for their business.”

Dating back to the nineteenth century, Perth Markets is WA’s only wholesale fruit and vegetable market, providing the critical link between growers, wholesalers, retailers and the fresh food supply chain. With more than 250,000 tonnes of produce traded through the market in the 2025 financial year, the site contributes significantly to the horticultural industry and WA’s economy.
