2025 Toyota Forklift Challenge
Perth Markets is proud to announce the return of the Toyota Forklift Challenge, supported by Market West, Toyota Material Handling (TMHA), Nationwide Training, Commonwealth Bank, West Coast Meats and Australian Produce Brokers (APB).
This year, Perth Markets will be hosting a smaller scale challenge over the course of 3 days, where all participants will be scored on their safe work practices. The top ten operators will then compete over a timed, practical course for the Grand Final trophy and cash prizes!
How it works
Day 1 (October 27) – Toyota Material Handling Display
Head to the heart of the Central Trading Area between 5am and 8am and be among the first to see the latest cutting-edge Toyota Material Handling forklifts up close! This display will be available all morning.
Day 2 (October 28) – Pre-Start Check Assessment
Tenant representatives who have signed up to the event will complete their first challenge today! Participants must complete a full pre-start inspection of a Toyota forklift and will be scored on their performance, efficiency and if they have completed all checks to the highest standard.
This assessment will be conducted between 6am – 8am, and with participants able to complete their assessment any time during this period. The assessment will take approximately 10 minutes.
The top 10 performers will move to the main challenge on Day 3. These finalists will be announced at 8am on October 28 after the Pre-Start Check Assessment and will also be contacted via email with information for the Grand Final.
Everyone has the opportunity to complete a pre-start and receive a TMHA gift, even non-competitors.
Day 3 (October 29) – Toyota Forklift Challenge Grand Final
The contestants with the top 10 highest scores from the Pre-Start Assessment round will be invited to participate in a timed, practical course designed to test their forklift operating skills. Contestants will be assessed by a panel of judges, and the event will begin at 7am.
Prizes:
First Prize – Trophy and a $500 Coles/Myer Gift Card for the Grand Final Winner
Second Prize – $250 Coles/Myer Gift Card for the Grand Final Runner Up
Second Prize – $100 Coles/Myer Gift Card for the Grand Final Second Runner Up
A BBQ will also be held during the Grand Final event, kindly sponsored by Australian Produce Brokers (APB) and West Coast Meats. So come hungry and ready to be entertained!

Each Perth Markets tenancy is able to nominate one (1) representative who will participant in the challenge. This nominated representative must complete the below entry form to enter. This representative must hold a valid Perth Markets Group Limited Forklift Operator Permit (FOP). Registrations close 5pm, Friday October 17.
